Spring has Sprunged

Hello dog-blog followers and many apologies that I have once again been neglecting my blog. Mum says it's a whole 2 months since I've posted anything. But I'm such a busy pup that I hope you won't blame me.

So, what's been happening since I last updated you with my adventures?

Firstly, I'm very pleased to say that I fully recovered from my rather traumatic operation. I spent a few days recuperating with granma and grandad, then returned home fighting fit and ready to get back into my regular routine.

Then a few weeks later it was my first birthday. Mum said this was really exciting as it meant I was becoming a grown up dog, but I still feel like a pup. I got lots of exciting presents for my birthday, including a lovely teddy bear from granma and lots of toys and treats from my mum. She even made me some birthday cakes, which I was allowed to try, even though dogs aren't supposed to eat cakes. I have to say I have rather developed a taste for them :-)

And since then I've been very busy taking mum on lots of walks. It seems to be much lighter outside these days, which is great as it means more timefor walkies. We have discovered some new walks out in the countryside, where there are pheasants and deer to chase, which keeps me very happy but makes mum despair that I'm going to disappear down a rabbit hole or something. She does get stressed out so easily.

So, to celebrate the springtime I thought I'd share some photos of me frolicking in the daffodils. Enjoy and I'll try not to leave it so long before I write some more.

Lots of love,

Daisy Dog.

Ahh, memories

Hello all,

So, I thought it was about time I shared my Christmas photos with you. I appreciate it's a bit late but I've had a few things on my mind. Last week, mum took me to the vet which I wasn't too unhappy about - they're usually very kind and they give me sweeties to take the edge off of having a thermometer stuck up my bottom. I skipped off quite happily with the vet as I thought she might be taking me somewhere exciting but it wasn't very exciting at all. I had to go to a little room where they gave me an injection and I suddenly felt really tired. When I woke up I felt really awful and I couldn't understand what had happened. My tummy was incredibly sore and I had a bit bandage on it. They tried to give me some food but I felt pretty miserable and I wasn't up to eating so I just laid around until mum came to get me. I have to say that I was quite upset with her so we didn't speak much that night, but I was feeling a bit better by the morning so we made up and had a nice day together.

Mum says I've had a operation so I have to take it easy for a few days, but I'm feeling much perkier now. I'm still not allowed to go walkies yet and I must confess that I've got a bit of cabin fever but we're going back to the vet on Monday so hopefully I'll be given the all clear to go walkies again then. Mum says she hopes so because I'm driving her mental :-)

Anyway, back to those Christmas photos.... I think I have sellotape stuck in my teeth...

So many presents, so little time

Ooh - what's that you've got grandad?

Who's going to clear up all this mess?

Still waters run deep!

Hello dog followers,

Well, I've had a rather traumatic day and to be quite honest I think I'm lucky to be here to tell the tale. Mum fell over on the ice earlier in the week so walkies have been a little bit scarce. As it's Saturday today I was very keen to get out and about for a bit of fresh air. Mum wasn't too enthusiastic about it because her knee was still hurting, but I can be very persuasive and, after lots of barking, jumping on her lap and licking her ear, I managed to get her to take me out. With hindsight, maybe we should have stayed home and watched TV!

We had a lovely walk, and we were on our way back when we stopped by the pond for a sniff. While I was there I spotted some ducks giving me attitude on the other side of the pond so I decided to give chase. Unfortunately I forgot that the pond wasn't frozen anymore and I fell in the water. It was very deep and I went right under and got water up my nose. Thankfully I managed to get out but I was soaked through and very cold. Mum laughed at me, which I thought was rather unsporting, but when she realised how cold I was, she was very kind and took her coat off and carried me home in it to stop me shivering. When we got home Mum found me a blanket to cuddle up in front of the fire and now that I've defrosted I feel much better.

Mum said maybe that would teach me not to chase the ducks - does she know me at all :-) ???

More snow pics!

Well it's Saturday, which means mum didn't have to traipse through the snow to work and we could have some fun. We decided to brave the snow for a lovely long walk. Mum let me run off my lead all the way and I got lots of exercise. I even saw, and chased, a deer in the woods, but unfortunately I couldn't keep up with it and it escaped over the golf course. Mum was a bit worried, because she couldn't see me - I do tend to be a bit camoflaged by the snow. I couldn't miss her in her silly woolly hat so I was able to find her again very easily.

Once again I was made to pose for lots of pictures in the snow - it's very cold on the bottom being asked to sit for a photo you know. Anyway, now we're back and I've had a nice chew of a bone, so I'm contemplating curling up by the fire for a bit. I need to conserve my energy in this cold weather :-)

Snow-bored!

OK, so it's been three days of snow and I'm getting a bit bored of it now. It's very cold on my paws and gets my fur all wet. Mum insisted on going walkies again today so now I'm stretching out in front of the fire, trying to warm up my paws.

Look how tough it is for a little puppy trying to run in the snow :-(

Let it snow, let it snow

Wow, a really exciting thing happened this morning. I woke up and when mum let me out into the garden it was all white - I hardly recognised it! The white stuff, which mum said was called snow, was really cold on my paws but it was brilliant fun to run through and dig in.

Mum played with me in the garden before she went to work and when she came home we went for a long walk through the fields. The snow was really deep and it was hard work running through it but very exciting!
Mum said I shouldn't run off otherwise she'd lose me because I'm white like the snow but I couldn't resist the urge to chase a couple of birds. Mum took lots of photos so I've uploaded my favourite ones here :-)

Still dark out - I get my first look at the snow.

"Where's it all coming from?"
"It's great fun out here!"
"Mum!!!" Cool dogs don't wear coats in the snow!!

"It's very picturesque around here, isn't it?"

"Is that a yeti over there?"

"You mean all this white stuff just fell out of the sky?"

"Mum - have you got a towel?"
